Why We Created Eleven + Co.

Why We Created the Kind of Salon We Actually Wanted to Work In
We didn't want to create another beautiful Oakville hair salon where nobody could fully relax.
By the time we opened Eleven + Co., we were both tired of things this industry doesn't always talk about honestly. So we built something different, for two different reasons that ended up pointing the same direction.
Elise's Reason: Tired of the Factory Feeling
Honestly, I was tired of being told exactly how to do my job. Tired of that factory feeling this industry can have. Do more. Move faster. Fit in one more client. Get the max amount of money out of every appointment.
That wasn't the kind of experience I wanted to give clients, and it wasn't the kind of day I wanted to have, over and over, for years.
Neveen's Reason: Real Work-Life Balance as a New Mom
For me, it was different. I had just become a new mom, and I really wanted a space where family life and work life were actually balanced, not just talked about. Somewhere I could still create beautiful hair in a beautiful space, without sacrificing everything else.
What We Actually Wanted to Build
Between the two of us, we knew exactly what we didn't want to build. So we built the opposite.
We wanted something small and intimate. Cozy and inviting. The kind of place that feels more like going to your friend's house than walking into a salon where you immediately feel like you have to act a certain way.
We wanted to be able to shoot the shit with our clients and laugh. Have real conversations. Create a community where women feel seen and heard. A salon you actually look forward to going to, not one you brace yourself for.

It mattered to us too that we weren't just adding more waste to the world. Being an eco-friendly hair salon means we recycle our leftover colour, the foils from highlights, and the hair from haircuts. We're thoughtful about what we use and the impact we have.
Doing Great Work Without the Pretentious Energy
We still care deeply about the work. We want your colour to be beautiful, your cut to work for your actual life, and your hair to feel like you. We just don't think excellent work needs pretentious, stuck-up energy behind it.
We're more low-key than that. We just want to have fun, do really good hair, and build real relationships with the people who sit in our chairs.
If you've ever felt uncomfortable, judged, or intimidated in a salon, you're definitely not the only one. We wanted Eleven + Co. to feel different from the moment you walked in.
Come Hang Out With Us
That's why we created Eleven + Co. — a welcoming, non-judgmental hair salon in Oakville. Two different reasons, one salon.
If that sounds like your kind of place, we'd love to meet you.
XO,
The Eleven + Co Team
